Historical Dance Group Lonca from Škofja Loka
TOWN OF ŠKOFJA LOKA
Premiered on the 20. of June 2009 in Škofja loka / Slovenia.
The multidisciplinary event was crated for a special occasion. Škofja loka castle has been through an extensive proces of restauration, since in several parts of the building, new historical facts were discovered and the museum wanted to present them to the public. The links reach back as far as the 15th century, so the performers searched for all possible links to give value to these parts of the castle in a more speciffic and historically related approach. With music, dance and poetry we traced back in time. The audience visited the castle and during their path they experienced scenes and short moments which together created a mozaic of the times of Balli, Bassa Danza, sword battles, poetry, music and feast.
